About This Set
In Spanish California in 1820, Don Diego de la Vega plays the harmless young nobleman of the pueblo of Los Angeles. In secret he is Zorro, the masked swordsman who rides out to defend ordinary people against corrupt officials, with his loyal servant Bernardo in on the secret and the bumbling Sergeant Garcia always one step behind.
Guy Williams stars in the series Walt Disney Productions made for ABC, which aired from 1957 to 1959, with Henry Calvin as Sergeant Garcia and Gene Sheldon as Bernardo. Its theme song became a hit for The Chordettes, and Annette Funicello joined the cast in season 2. After the regular run ended, the story continued in four hour-long specials in 1960 and 1961.
The Zorro complete TV series & specials Blu-Ray set comes on 5 discs and includes all 78 original episodes, colorized, plus the four specials in their original black and white: nearly 36 hours in total. Each of the two seasons has 39 episodes. Zorro wasn’t filmed in high definition, so every episode has been upconverted frame by frame to 1080p. The discs are region free and play on any Blu-Ray player in the world, and the interactive menus include Play All for easy binge-watching. Audio is in English only, with no subtitles.

Amazing quality. So happy to finally find this show on Blu-Ray. I can’t believe a show from the 1950s can still look so good in 1080p. This is definitely one of the best versions of the show I have found. Shipping was also super fast. Received only 2 days after ordering.

The Zorro 1957 Complete TV Series Blu-Ray set is a treasure trove for classic TV enthusiasts like me. The A/V quality, given the era it was filmed in, is remarkable with the 1080p digital remastering. It brings Guy Williams’ charismatic portrayal of Zorro to life once again. The color episodes along with the black and white specials offer a nostalgic yet fresh experience. Shipping was prompt and the packaging ensured no damage. The interactive menus are user-friendly. This set is a perfect way to relive the adventurous tales of the masked hero, and a great addition to any classic TV series collection.

This Blu-Ray set has been a wonderful way to introduce my kids to the legend of Zorro. The remastered visuals make the series appealing to the younger eyes, while the storyline and character of Zorro remain as engaging as ever. The physical discs also mean no worries about streaming issues or availability. The ‘Play All’ feature is a great touch for a weekend binge. It’s a perfect blend of old-school charm with modern viewing quality, bridging the generational gap effortlessly. It’s more than just a Blu-Ray set; it’s passing on a legacy to the next generation.

Venturing back to the 1950s with this Blu-Ray set has been a joy. The picture quality is impressive considering the age of the series. The episodes are as thrilling as I remember, and the 4 special black and white episodes are a cherry on top. The menus are straightforward, making it easy to navigate through episodes. However, a little more artwork could have made the menus more appealing. This set is a reminder of the golden era of television, and a testament to the timeless appeal of the character of Zorro. The adventures of the masked crusader have never looked better.
