About This Set
The 1981 Spider-Man series puts the web-slinger on his own. Peter Parker splits his time between university classes, freelance photos for the Daily Bugle and looking after Aunt May, then swings into action whenever New York needs him.
Made in 1981 as Marvel Productions’ first series, it stars Ted Schwartz as Spider-Man and William Woodson as J. Jonah Jameson. Doctor Doom is his most frequent foe, and guest appearances include Magneto, Captain America, Sub-Mariner and the Green Goblin, voiced by Neil Ross, who returned to the role in the 1994 series. It’s a separate show from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, with its own cast and stories.
The Spider-Man complete animated series DVD set comes on 3 discs and includes all 26 episodes: about 9½ hours of uncut, digitally remastered animation. The discs are region free and play on any DVD player in the world, and the interactive menus include Play All for easy binge-watching. Audio is in English only, with no subtitles.

The best version of this show out there. I mean both for the series quality as well as this set. I love the 1981 Spiderman, and its been next to impossible to find a complete set with all the episodes. I found it here and I haven’t been disappointed. It came very quickly and I’m already through half the show. I’ll probably pick up Amazing Friends next.

The 1981 Spider-Man series on DVD is a great to finally own. The quality is much better than expected for a show from that era, making it a great way to enjoy some of the best Spider-Man stories. I think the 94 series is more iconic, but I still enjoy this one anyway. It’s cool to see how the character and his universe were portrayed back then, offering a nostalgic trip for fans like me. This collection is a great addition for anyone who loves Spider-Man or wants to explore his animated adventures.
